I really did like this book, it was definitely a fun read. The way that it was written was quite unique - both in the way that the readers voted for what happened next in the story and in the way that it was written as a diary on a computer. I don't think I've ever read a book done in quite that way before and I think it gave it a realistic feel and made it intriguing. The story had those kind of characters who you end up not wanting to say goodbye to and overall it was a really enjoyable book.

Review: How to Keep a Boy as a Pet by Diane Messidoro

I thought this story was really brilliant. I found it had an interesting format (being written in the form of an online blog, much like this one!) which made the story different to others. It was also hilarious, I literally laughed out loud at some parts. It was just full of funny moments. But it also had it's sad moments, as quite a few good stories do, but they were written well and were necessary to the story, not just added to make sure the story wasn't all sunshine and lollipops.
I enjoyed getting to know the characters of the story. Of course, there were the positively hateful characters, such as Patricia (ugh) but there were also the wonderful characters that I loved, like Rufus (*swoon*). This book had a lovely storyline with pieces that tied in together and, to be frank, a perfect ending.

Review: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is an extremely unique book, I don't think there really is another book like it. It's a very clever book, featuring a lot of maths that I didn't understand and facts that messed with my head, but I liked that about it. It made me understand what Christopher's brain was like, knowing things that seem so complicated to me (I got an A at Maths GCSE but haven't taken it any further than that). The actual story was really good, even though it was told in such a different way, I think it had a certain charm to it.
I think I first read this book back in Year 9 English, but we didn't read it in full so I read it at home because my mum had a copy. I remember liking it but not loving it. But then we went to see Curious Incident at The Apollo and I fell in love with the play so decided to re-read the book, which I promptly read in less than a day.

My Life (#2): Taylor Swift & The Vamps

Taylor Swift & The Vamps actually sounds like a good band name itself.
Anyway, I said I'd post something on this blog every weekend but then this weekend I didn't post anything. So hopefully this post will make up for that. Hopefully.
So, what's been happening in my life? Well, on Friday the 4th of October 2013, a day I will remember for all eternity, I got tickets to see Taylor Swift on Saturday the 1st of February 2014! (A day I will also probably remember for all eternity). And I am unbelievably excited about that. My mum and I will be going together and it's going to be so brilliant. I've never seen Taylor Swift live before or been to a concert, so this will be my first concert and I'm so glad that it's a Taylor Swift one. If you didn't know, I am a huge Taylor Swift fan (AKA a Swifty), so the fact that I'm going to see her live is just insane. I've been planning for it already. If you've been lucky to get tickets to see Taylor then I hope you have a wonderful time and I might even see you there if you're going to the concert on the first.
Yesterday, it was announced that The Vamps will be supporting Taylor at her London concerts. Before then, I'd heard of The Vamps but didn't know a lot about them, so I decided to look them up and I really like them. I always like it when I discover a new band that I like. I recommend you check them about because they are very good. They are Brad, Tristan, James and Connor and they play their own instruments and their debut single Can We Dance is out now! This is the music video:
I love them already. It's made me even more excited for the Taylor Swift concert because I get to see them open up for her!
Hopefully this weekend I'll get a book review up, because my plan is to centre this blog around book reviews (yeah... Not going well so far...). And I also hope to get a post up on Coffee and Kiwis about writing because that is what that blog is sort of supposed to be about and I haven't actually written a post about writing on there yet.
As you can see I am extremely organised. Well, I'm trying to be.

A Notice (#2)

Right, I have made a resolution. I am going to try and write a post for this blog once every weekend. Because the last time I posted on this blog was about a month ago and that really isn't good enough. And if I post something every weekend, hopefully I'll write more reviews because I haven't posted any in ages. I have some written in note form, but not posted, and some I plan to write. So hopefully you will see those soon, and one of them perhaps next week.
If you want to see more regular updates from me, follow the links on the right and I will see you next weekend! (When the post hopefully won't be these short, the length of this post is just scandalous).

My Life (#1): The Bank Holiday Weekend & Returning to College

I had a good weekend, apart from the fact that it rained on Saturday, meaning my horse riding lesson was cancelled. But, oh well, life moves on. Sunday was fun because my dad's side of the family came to our house for a barbecue. I got to see everyone and eat some very nice food. And, a bonus, barbecue leftovers are scrumptious. Then yesterday, Bank Holiday Monday, was nice because we went to the beach and had a good time there. I even wrote my name in the sand!
So that was all very cool. However, next week looms over me like a storm cloud. Well, that may be a tad over-dramatic. I'm only returning to college. Which does have it's plus sides. I mean, I do get to see all my lovely college friends again and it'll mean I'm more productive (I can, occasionally, in the holidays, end up spending whole days sitting on the sofa and going on my laptop...) and I do enjoy my subjects, most of the time. However, there is still the getting-up-at-seven-in-the-morning-getting-stressed-over-homework-and-exams side to it. But, I will persevere and put in effort so I do well at the end of the year.
Well, I hope you all had a good weekend and enjoy going back to school (or at least don't hate it). Hopefully I shall post again soon. I apologise for the rather large length of time between this post and the last one.
Au revoir!

A Notice (#1)

Originally I was going to repost all my old reviews from Threads Fans over to this blog, but I tried to copy and paste a couple and it wouldn't work right, the layout went all weird and the font went odd. So I've made a decision to leave the old reviews over at Threads Fans and if you want to read them you should go visit that blog, because I'm not deleting it, just so you guys can go over there and read old reviews. If you really want to do that. Here is the link to Threads Fans
Of course, all new reviews will be posted on here, I Tend To Ramble.
I hope you're all okay with this and that it makes sense.

Coffee and Kiwis

So, some of you (if I actually have any readers on this blog yet) may be wondering why there is a link titled "Coffee and Kiwis" on the sidebar to the right. Well, let me explain. Coffee and Kiwis is a blog originally created by my friend, whose pen-name on the blog is Zahra (no I don't know why it's that, I don't think she knows why either), who invited me to co-write on the blog with her. And now I do co-write on the blog with her. Apparently I just can't get enough of writing all over the internet even though I don't actually have any time to do it in. But, now that I have broken up from college for the summer holiday, hopefully I will actually have time to do that. So far it seems like being off from college is giving me time to do more stuff, I created this blog for a start and I've done other stuff such as working on my Extended Project Qualification for college and doing some writing.
But, anyway (sorry, I tend to digress), back to Coffee and Kiwis. I tend to post on there about random stuff, like Harry Potter, while Zahra posts about random stuff too, but while managing to sound much more intellectual than me.
So, I don't think I've sold it particularly well, but if you would like to go and visit Coffee and Kiwis by clicking on the link to it on the right, that would be awesome.
Later today I will be posting reviews that I previously posted on Threads Fans on this blog so all my reviews will be in one place. So, if you wonder why there's suddenly quite a few reviews posted all in one day then it's not me being really productive and writing 9 reviews in one day, it's me copying and pasting from my old blog to this new one.
Thank you for reading! (If anyone actually is reading this...)

Hello World!

Hello World,
Let me introduce myself. My name is Rebecca and I'm from England, if you would like to know more about me then please do click on the links in the sidebar.
This blog, I Tend To Ramble, started off as Threads Fans but I decided I wanted a change for the blog so moved to a new blog to start over. Soon I plan to post all my previous reviews and important posts on here so you can view them all at this new main blog.
If you're wondering whether you should follow/subscribe to/etc. this blog then I should tell you that you probably shouldn't. Because, as it says on the tin, I tend to ramble. However, I do ramble about my life, music, news, books fashion, and lots of other random things, so if you are interested in any of those topics (why would you be interested in my life?) then maybe you should follow/subscribe to/etc. this blog. It's your choice, but you should know if you do follow/subscribe to/etc. my blog then it would make me very happy (sorry, that probably sounded a bit like me trying to influence you...).
If you would like to know more about this blog then please click on the About tab just next to the Home tab just below the title and description of this blog.
Until next time,
